A sound check might have helped...
I have been a fan of Zack Fox (DJ Set) for years and have seen them several times. The band has always put on an amazing show. The poor sound quality at last night's show drove us from the theater after the 7th song. The techs, instead of correcting the problem with the sound, turned up the volume. The sound quality was so poor that if I were not familiar with the band's material, I would not have recognized the songs they were playing. The sound was a combination of terrible feedback and too-high bass levels, drowning out the vocals completely. We stayed in the vain hope that the horrible feedback and din would be corrected, but finally walked out in frustration. I have never walked out of a live performance before, so I am terribly disappointed. I hope they are able to work out whatever the issue was before their next performance. Zack Fox (DJ Set) was probably stellar, but the sound set-up ruined it for me. The only thing worse than the sound quality was being blinded by the lights, which seemed to be aimed directly into the eyes of those seated for a deer-in-the-headlights effect.
